Public Hearings for MSD Stormwater Capital Rate Proposal

Stormwater Public Hearings

The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) has proposed a Stormwater Capital Rate to fund work to address localized flooding and erosion issues. MSD has identified approximately 500 stormwater issues throughout its service area.

As flooding and erosion are directly impacted by the volume of stormwater runoff created by impervious surfaces that cannot absorb water, each customer would pay based upon the amount of impervious ares on their property. The average homeowner would pay $27 each year or $2.25 a month with the Stormwater Capital Rate.

Rate Commission public hearings will be held in May and June, where homeowners are encouraged to join the discussion and provide feedback on the proposed Stormwater Capital Rate. If you can't make a public hearing, a meeting will be streamed online on May 30. Find out more at
